What is this pink gemstone?

Question: I have attained a strand of pinkish beads. They are gemstone because my friend got them in a gemstone section. However, they weren't labeled like the picture jasper or the agate. They look lke they would look like rose quartz, except for the fact it has tons of flecks of what looks like tiny gold glitter. No, they aren't plastic. One of the neatest gemstones I have ever seen, but I cannot place it. I know what most of the pinkish gemstones are. This is not opal or rose quartz, or anything of that nature. I'm looking for a name I can look up on the net so I can possibly find some more of these. It was a 16" strand of teardrop beads. They are about 6x4mm. She paid 28 dollars, I think for the strand.

Answer: Pink Tourmaline was a good guess. Here is a picture (down a little) of some pink tourmaline. You can also see "gold flecks" in the top picture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourmaline Rhodocrosite may be an even better guess. http://www.hummingbirdminerals.com/RhodocrositeGallery.html This page takes a while to load, but notice the "flecks" or nodules of white in the lower pictures. If you go to the second page, you will see the same mineral with yellowish rather than white inclusions. Jim
